Building a new liquor store has been a topic of discussion on and off for many years. The present building dates back to the early 1900s when it was the Johnson Brothers Grocery Store. The second floor, no longer accessible to the public, was used as a meeting room and dance hall until the floor became unstable.

Isaiah Godding received a $10 gift certificate for Pizza Hut and two tickets for the cinema for selling the most hoagies. He sold 160. Pictured are Wanda Hommerding, Dollars for Scholars president; Isaiah Godding; and Deb Weber, Dollars for Scholars vice president.

Members of the local FFA Chapter who won honors at the National FFA Convention were honored guests of the local commercial club at the dinner meeting on Monday November 4. Students honored at the dinner were: Charlene Guse, Terri Peterson, Karen Krause, Ron Pooler and Greta Mittag.

Wednesday night, November 6, was a big night for the young Eagle Bend community boys. John Recor, Explorer Executive of the Central Minnesota Council of the Boy Scouts of America, was here to assist some 18 boys ages 8-10 and their parents in the organization of an Explorer Cub Scout pack in Eagle Bend.
