On Monday, December 20, Eagle Valley played Parkers Prairie and Browerville played Verndale in the first round of the annual holiday tournament. The Eagles and Parkers Prairie were 41-41, very low scoring but what excitement! In the first overtime both teams wanted to get the jump on each other. By the end of the first O.T. we were down by three points with the ball under our own basket. We called a time out and made sure we were all on the same frequency. The players executed very well as we passed to Justin Ahrendt who reversed it for an open three point shot for Andy Pontius who drilled it home to tie the game.

Administrator Kevin Hess has been working with the engineering firm of Widseth Smith Nolting in regards to bridge replacement in town. The engineers would apply for a grant, which if approved would mean the actual bridges will be paid for by state and federal funds. The fees per bridge amount to approximately $8000. The cost of the bridges is approximately $40,000 each. The council feels the Jackson Street bridge will easily qualify for replacement.
