When a new family joins the community, there are a lot of unanswered questions. What is available for local businesses, schools, churches and other establishments? In order to aid the newcomers and to welcome them to the community, the Eagle Bend Area Development Corporation sponsors a “greeter”. Jan Notch has taken over that role. She will greet new members to the community. She’s been visiting the local businesses introducing herself, and about 50 businesses have contributed items to make welcome baskets.

The Eagle Valley High School Lady Rebels traveled to Alexandria to take on Ashby in the quarterfinal game of the Section 6 girls basketball tournament on Saturday, March 4. Early on, the Lady Rebels were nervous and at slowed their play. Playing very tentatively, the Lady Rebels managed only eight points, all by senior Laura Hommerding.

On Saturday evening, at about 9 p.m., the royalty of the 1974 Sno-Daze, King Scott Jackson and Queen Nancy Johnson will relinquish their crowns and hand over the royal responsibility to the new 1975 Sno-Daze king and queen.

The Pack 23 Cub Scouts of Eagle Bend held their annual Blue and Gold Banquet commemorating scouting on February 24 at 8 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend. After the evening meal, which was highlighted by the delicious and beautifully decorated cakes with the Wolf, Bear and Arrow of Light insignias, the Pledge of Allegiance and Scout Promise opened the program.
