Eagle Valley Speech Team received awards: Steven Winkler, red in poet; Danielle Notch, red in serious prose; Chrystal Hess, blue in humorous; Rebecca Larson, blue in drama and Amanda Eblen, red in poetry.

The junior high Knowledge Bowl team ended their season with a third place trophy at the regional meet on Friday, March 9. The winning team “Beg Your Pardon”, consisted of Megan Schlichting, Hana Hierl, Gayle Perish, Matthew Harren, Mark LaVoie and Clayton Krause. Eagle Valley had two other teams represented at the meet. Members of these teams were: Wade Johnson, Adam Gadbaw, Jessica Asfeld, Darren Henderson, Michael Stoterau, Theresa Krause, Barry Lunemann, Tiffany Benning, Steven Winkler, Phillip Allen and Lance Dehn.

The Eagle Bend Volunteer Fire Department answered two fire calls this past week. On Friday morning, they responded to a call at the farm home of George Kuperus when a chimney fire threatened the home. At the noon hour on Monday, a report was received that a fire was discovered in the lobby of the gym at the school. No damage or cause of the fires were reported.

The Eagle Bend High School Student Council will sponsor Bob Crosby’s Donkey Basketball on April 5. The starting time is 8 p.m. at the high school gym.
