The Eagle Bend Girl Scouts have an aluminum can recycling bin next to the Todd County Recycling station in Eagle Bend. The money earned from the aluminum cans will support the local girl scouts. The bin was made by Gary Gabler. The benefit for the Meierding family was held on January 29 at the VFW in Eagle Bend. Sponsors were: Eagle Valley Staff, Lutheran Brotherhood, AAL #6556, VFW, and Ladies Auxiliary. Other donations were from Jon and Rita’s, Bisel’s, Cass Clay, and Kraft. March 11, 1971
Terry Smith, son of Dr. and Mrs. E.H. Smith of Eagle Bend, sang under the direction of Kurt Adler, renowned conductor of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus and Beethoven’s Miss Solemanis, on Wednesday, March 3, in the Northrop Memorial Auditorium on the University of Minnesota Campus.

One Eagle Bend bowling team is in the running for a $5000 prize after qualifying in the January roll-offs of the “Hamm’s Bowling Challenge” sponsored by Theodore Hamm Company, St. Paul Minn., brewer.
