Greg Nolan is planting trees. This is no big news as Nolan works with trees for a living. What’s different this time is that Greg and his crew are planting trees for Champion International out of Sartell. What are they poking into the ground? Hybrid poplar sticks. Today, Greg, his daughter Moriah Nolan-Rapatz, friend Nick Byrne, and Jerome Nolan, Greg’s brother, were planting trees into a field about a half-mile south of The Red Barn Antique Shop near Eagle Bend.

Principal Richard Lundgren explained that UHF Channel 45 had been off the air for two weeks before school let out. It is broken and Freshwater’s Russ Martinson said it was the school’s obligation to fix it. Lundgren and Technician Scott Wegner think the cable needs to be replaced which will cost about $500 to $1000 including workers who must climb the tower to replace it.
