Prize winners at the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Nutrition Center in Eagle Bend were Gladys Dettinger, Leona Nelson, Eva Lindberg, Olga Listoe, Andy Eberle, Irene Woodward, Harold Nohre and Harold Johnson.

Many friends and relatives got together on Sunday afternoon at the Faith Lutheran Church to help Roy Clementson celebrate his 80th birthday. Also, many people who couldn’t attend sent him cards and lots of telephone birthday wishes.
50 Years Ago
July 22, 1971
The Eagle Bend News office will this year revert to a former practice whereby the shop will be closed for an entire week for vacation. The week to be observed for a vacation period will be the first week of August, the 1st through the 8th.

Standard Brand Incorporated announced that the Home Economics 10 class of Eagle Bend High School and their teacher have been named state runner-up in the Fleischmann’s Yeast Menu Planning contest.
