Lesa Asfeld is joining the staff at Eagle Valley as a new teacher. She has worked as a management aid at the Eagle Valley High School and also as a substitute teacher at Eagle Valley, Long Prairie/Grey Eagle and Parkers Prairie high schools. Last year she worked as a tutor at the Park Rapids High School. Betty Klein has been working as a paraprofessional in special education at the Eagle Vally High School for the past 10 years. Recently, Betty graduated from Moorhead State University with a major in special education K-12.

Eagle Bend Lions Treasurer Disk Baso congratulated Dennis Reierson on winning the Kawasaki 4-wheeler which the club raffled off. The Lions drew the winning ticket for the ATV at the annual corn feed last Friday evening. The club served over 100 dozen ears of corn and raised several hundred dollars from the feed Friday night. The Lions will now retire the $1000 debt balance on the hockey rink, which cost about $20,000 to build.

Students who qualified for the latest Dean’s List at Moorhead State College by virtue of their scholastic grades earned spring quarter were as follows: undergraduate students who earned a grade point average of 3.25 or better while carrying 14 credit hours were William Larry Einerwold and James R. Hosmer, both of Eagle Bend.

The 4-H Share the Fun Festival at the Minnesota State Fair will have one act from Todd County this year. It will be a vocal number by Norman and Diane Krause of the Wykeham Willing Workers 4-H Club of Eagle Bend.
