Shooter enters a guilty plea, sentencing December 8
Ricardo Del Valle Martinez, 26, was charged with second-degree murder and a two-week trial was set to begin on December 7.
The jury trial was canceled when Del Valle Martinez entered a guilty plea on October 12. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for December 8.
Del Valle Martinez is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, one with intent, not premeditated-aid/abet and the other with intent-aid/abet/attempted.
According to court documents: “Mr. Del Valle Martinez pleads guilty to count one and count two. He is sentenced to a guidelines sentence at the middle of the appropriate guidelines box which the parties anticipate is 306 months in prison with credit for 408 days as of October 11. Count one will be sentenced first and count two will run concurrently.”
Del Valle Martinez was charged in the shooting of two brothers on August 29, 2020, injuring one and killing the other.
The shooting occurred at the intersection of County Road 38 and County Road 11 in Todd County.
Edward Abreu Grullon was shot in the left arm. Edwin Abreu Grullon was deceased and it was later determined by the medical examiner that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest.
