John Sieling of Eagle Bend and a retired Eagle Bend/Eagle Valley teacher was recently inducted into the Concordia-St. Paul College Athletic Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held on October 1.
Most of us in the area will remember Sieling as the sixth-grade teacher at Eagle Bend and then at the combined Eagle Valley. He taught at the schools from 1977 until he retired in 2014.
He was also a football coach for 42 years and additionally coached softball for 25 years.
He retired from coaching in 2018.
At one point Eagle Valley had paired with Parkers Prairie in football and Sieling coached that team. Later and until 2018 he coached at Parkers Prairie after Eagle Valley paired with Browerville.
While in college, Sieling was a member of the inaugural Concordia-St. Paul football team. . .
