Snow catches prevent snow drifting across roads

A free service that is offered by the Wadena County Highway Department has been well received. It helps to keep the roads clear for motorists.

In years past, Jason Miller, maintenance foreman, would go door to door asking property owners if they would allow the highway department to make a snow catch to help keep the roads clear.

At the end of December, Miller asked if the highway department could post and advertise to see if anyone would be interested in offering their land to be used as a snow catch. They posted on their Facebook page looking for people with open fields in the county. . .
