The Bears start slow but end fast on First Responders Night
by Coach Jared Hoemberg
It was a gorgeous night at the Bertha-Hewitt Athletic Complex on Friday. The Bears played their first home game of the season against the Sebeka Trojans, both teams coming into the game 1-0.
Along with the home opener for the Bears, it was First Responders Appreciation, where local first responders received free admission to the game as well as a halftime recognition that ended with a handshake from the players.
“We can’t thank our local volunteer first responders enough for all the blood, sweat, and tears they have put in to protect us. We appreciate everything they do for us and tend to take what they do for granted,” said Coach Hoemberg. . .
