Three wrestlers punched their ticket to State: Pachan, Bruder and Miron victorious

The Section 6A individual wrestling tournament was held at the Wadena-Deer Creek School on Friday, February 21. Three Long Prairie Grey Eagle-Browerville Wolves were victorious in the competition. They will compete at the State Tournament Thursday-Saturday, February 27-March 1, at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
In the 107-pound division, fifth-place finisher Hayden Hiebert of the LPGE-Browerville Wolves, with an 18-20 record, secured a victory over Blake Fuhrman of the Border West Buccaneers (10-27). Hiebert won the match by fall in just 1:05.
Evan Flan (31-9) faced a setback in the 121-pound division when he could not compete against Border West Buccaneers Tryg Olson (22-14) in a non-contested match. However, Flan bounced back in the third-place match, delivering a strong performance to secure a 12-9 decision over Keiran Gehrke of West Central Area-Ashby-Brandon-Evansville (16-21). With his resilience and determination, Flan finished the tournament with a well-earned third-place spot.
Brodie Pachan (36-7) dominated the 127-pound championship match, securing a decisive 16-5 major decision victory over West Central Area-Ashby-Brandon-Evansville freshman Evan Dingwall (30-14). Pachan’s aggressive offense and control on the mat propelled him to the top of the podium, earning him the first-place finish in his weight class....
