Tigers clip the Eagles’ wings

by Coach Robert Schueller

Browerville/Eagle Valley - 60, New York Mills - 46

The Tigers were in New York Mills last week for a non-conference game versus the 0-13 Eagles. The Tigers brought in an impressive 8-1 record. However, the Eagles didn’t pay attention to wins and losses.

Browerville/Eagle Valley found themselves down 15 to 2 six minutes into the game. The Tigers Maloney scored the one basket for the Tigers off the opening tip. B/EV seemed to have no answers for the Eagles’ defense and were constantly on their heels defensively.

With the help of ten points off the bench, led by Reed Webster’s 7 first-half points, and some defensive stops, the Tigers were able to tie the game at 18 at the 6:20 mark. At that point, the team started to settle in a little more and take better care of the ball. B/EV turned the ball over ten times in the first half with six of those being in the first four minutes of the game. . .
