Tigers defeat Johnnies, look forward to Coaches vs. Cancer games

by Coach Jeni Burns
On Tuesday, the Tigers traveled to St. Johns to take on the Johnnies.
The JV came out ready to play and came home with a very convincing win.
The varsity started off the contest very slow. Unable to convert on the offensive end and giving up easy buckets and sending St. Johns to the free throw line. This allowed the Johnnies to go into the half up 6.
The Tigers made some defensive adjustments in the second half but were still unable to get anything going offensively.
Eventually the defensive effort paid off and down the stretch the Tigers were able to take their first lead late into the second half.
Some big free throws down the stretch by Allie Bartels and Emily Biegler secured the game for the Tigers.
The Tigers were 10-13 as a team from the charity stripe....
