Tigers girls pound out hits in several games last week

by Coach Jeff Myers

The Browerville/Eagle Valley softball team scored five runs in the first inning and defeated the Swanville Bulldogs 12-2 in five innings last Thursday in a Prairie Conference “home” game for the Tigers that was played in Swanville. Good pitching, solid defense, and aggressive hitting and base running were the keys in the game.

The Tigers pounded out 11 hits in four innings and took advantage of some Bulldogs miscues to help seal the win.

Leading the offensive charge was Sophomore Anna Myers who was 3-3 on the day, followed by Seniors Alyah Abrahamson and Tyra Myers who both had two hits on the day. Chipping in with one hit each were Seniors Aubriana Schwanke, Madeline Irsfeld, Lily Puck, and Sophomore Lauren Schnettler. Sophomore Abby Marxer pitched the complete game giving up six hits, and zero walks, while striking out 1 Bulldogs player. . .
