Tigers keep the wins coming—complete week with first-place finish at invite
by Coach Mary Irsfeld
The first day of school also brought the first home game of the 2021 season for the Tigers. The Bulldogs of Swanville came to town Tuesday with one thing in mind and it looked like they might get their way as the Tigers struggled from behind the service line and at the net, unable to find their way around the Bulldogs big block.
The girls dropped the first set 20-25 but came out more focused in game two. Behind a big 12-point serving run by senior Lily Puck, the Tigers jumped out to an early 17-3 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 25-8 victory. Games three and four were back and forth with the Tigers prevailing in the end.
Hitting and service errors plagued the team all night but the girls persevered and found a way to pull out the “W”. . . .
