Tigers play hard in final match

The Browerville-Eagle Valley Tigers faced the Sebeka Trojans in the Subsection Championship match on Tuesday in Crosby-Ironton. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Tigers were defeated 0-3 with set scores of 23-25, 18-25, and 20-25, marking the end of their season.
In a tight first set, the Tigers kept pace with the Sebeka Trojans, never trailing by more than three points. The Tigers had a chance to close out the set, leading 23-22, but a timely timeout by the Trojans shifted the momentum, leading to a 3-0 run and a 25-23 victory for Sebeka in the first set.
Following the tough loss in set one, the Tigers started strong in set two, tying the score at 5-5. However, the Trojans responded with a 4-0 run, exploiting scramble plays by the Tigers and building an aggressive offense. The Trojans extended their lead to 11-18, and despite a late push from the Tigers, who narrowed the gap to 18-23, Sebeka closed out the set 25-18.
Set three mirrored the previous sets, with both teams battling closely until a tie at 10-10. The Trojans then pulled ahead with a 3-0 run, establishing a 13-10 lead. After falling behind 12-16, the Tigers called a timeout to regroup and managed to narrow the score to 16-17.
However, errors allowed the Trojans to extend their lead to 16-19. A second timeout at 17-21 sparked a rally, bringing the Tigers within two points at 20-22. Despite their efforts, the Trojans secured the set 25-20, advancing to the Section Championship....
