Browerville/Eagle Valley - 73, New York Mills - 85
In their final week of the regular season, the Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers traveled to New York Mills to play the Eagles. New York Mills has put together a 25-1 season and a QRF ranking of #4. The Tigers came in with a 14-8 record.
The Tigers had a hard time adjusting to the size and length of the Eagles early on. B/EV did connect first for the game’s first points and the two teams traded a couple of baskets. NYM then pushed their way to a ten-point lead, 17 to 7. The Tigers began to settle in a little on the defensive end forcing a few turnovers and contesting shots.
The scoring pace was fast in the first half as the Tigers got back within three points, 16 to 19. Quickly, the Eagles would increase their lead to ten again, 18 to 28 with 6 ½ minutes left in the half.
Browerville/Eagle Valley kept hanging around hitting a couple of back-to-back threes and again getting within seven points. The Eagles’ offense continued to put points on the board right to the end of the first half hitting a three-point shot at the buzzer to take a sixteen-point lead to the locker room, 34-50. . .
