Tigers went on a three-game winning streak

by Coach Robert Schueller

Browerville/Eagle Valley put together three nice wins the week before last. The first one was a trip to Staples to take on the Cardinals. Staples-Motley had just won 3 of their last 4 games and was a dangerous team with good shooting and solid defense. Browerville/Eagle Valley came in looking for more consistency from the offense.

The Tigers came out more aggressive offensively and set the tone early. The Cardinals offense was also ready to match B/EV. The Tigers had an early six point lead, 14-8, but that lead disappeared quickly with back-to-back three-pointers. Staples took the lead and led by as many as four points before B/EV would take the lead back. The Tigers led 24-19, but again the Cardinals hit some big shots and tied the game at 24 and then again at 30. B/EV scored the last basket of the half and headed to the locker room with a slight edge at 32-30.

Six different players put points on the board for the Tigers in the first half. Miguel Maloney led the way with 9 points. Hans Puck and Reed Webster scored 8 points and 7 points, respectively. Isaiah Schultz scored 16 points for the Cardinals. . .
