Tigers win two games for the week

Browerville/Eagle Valley - 77, St. John’s Prep - 60
Last Monday night the Tigers took on the Johnnies from St. John’s Prep. The game proved to be a battle with a much improved team from St. John’s.
The Johnnies had the Tigers back on their heels early on pushing the ball up the court and scoring quickly. Both teams traded baskets for much of the half.
The Tigers led by six points on a couple of occasions, but could not break it open and the Johnnies would tie the score up.
With just under five minutes left, the score was knotted at 28.
B/EV was then able to close out the half with a 16 to 2 run and a more comfortable lead at the half, 44 - 30.
Ryan Riedel pumped in 17 points, and Tavin Benning added 11 first half points.
The second half was a lot the same with each team scoring baskets.
The Johnnies pulled to within six points twice.
B/EV’s defense started to cause more turnovers resulting in some easy points.
The Tigers began to pull away with some accurate free throw shooting also, going 9 of 11 in the second half.
St. John’s did not look as comfortable in the second half as they did in the first half.
B/EV’s mix of defenses kept the Johnnies at bay. This allowed the Tigers to take their largest lead of the game and reach the final score of 77 - 60.

Browerville/Eagle Valley - 79, Parkers Prairie - 61
The next night, the Tigers played host to the Parkers Prairie Panthers.
The Tigers jumped all over the Panthers right from the start and never looked back.
B/EV’s defense was smothering forcing 11 turnovers and holding the Panthers to 24% shooting in the first half.
The Tigers scored 18 points off of turnovers....
