Todd County Board of Commissioners: $4 million grant for Solid Waste is accepted
by Karin L. Nauber
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency selected Todd County to receive a grant for $4,000,000 (four million dollars) through the Solid Waste Processing Facilities Capital Assistance Program (CAP).
The grant is for the construction of a new transfer station and household hazardous waste facility.
The project budget includes approximately $1.5 million in county matching funds. The grant money is from General Obligation Bond Proceeds generated by the state of Minnesota.
Todd County submitted a final grant application in March of 2021. In January of 2022, the state of Minnesota finalized its review and sent Todd County the grant agreement.
The only thing left to do in order for the county to utilize the funds was to accept the terms of the agreement and authorize Solid Waste Director Chris McConn to electronically sign the CAP grant agreement through Docusign. . .
