Todd County Board of Commissioners: Concerns about solar panels taking over
by Karin L. Nauber
“The whole east side of Osakis will be solar panels out to the Interstate,” said Commissioner Randy Neumann when he expressed his concerns about two separate board actions to allow solar panels to be placed on two more properties in the county.
The two Conditional Use Permits (CUPs) were both for FroProperties, LLC., (Michael Froseth) to establish a Community Solar Energy System on parcels 14-0026700 and 14-0024800 in Kandota Township with the following conditions:
1. Submittal of an interconnection agreement with Electric Service Provider prior to issuance of Land Use Permit.
2. Applicant must obtain additional permitting, when necessary, from other governmental agencies.
According to the information received, these will be smaller set-ups, but will still be hooking into the electrical grid.
Neumann said that Stearns County has big concerns about solar fields. . .
