Todd County Board of Commissioners: First meeting of new year is held, offices set

The first meeting of the new year for the Todd County Board of Commissioners was held on Tuesday, January 7. At that time the re-elected commissioners—Barb Becker, Bob Byers and Randy Neumann—took their oaths of office to start off the meeting.
After that, the board organization took place. Commissioner Bob Byers was nominated and elected to the position of chair for 2025 and Commissioner Tim Denny was nominated and elected to the position of vice chair.
In other business:
• Approved the hire of Ashlynn Leskey to fill an open social worker position with a start date to be determined (TBD).
• Approved to hire Christine Lorentzen to fill an open social worker position with a start date TBD.
• Adopted a resolution appointing membership to the Todd-Wadena Community Corrections Executive Committee and to the Advisory Board— commissioners Lew Noska and Barb Becker.
• Official Newspaper Designation went to the joint bid from the Long Prairie Leader, Independent News Herald and Staples World. The Leader will also run legals in the Osakis Anchor as space permits without any extra charge to the county....
