Todd County Board of Commissioners: Is part-time help just a bandage for assessor’s office?

Would hiring a part-time office assistant be just a bandage and not really fix the problems in the assessor’s office? That was the question that was asked by Commissioner Barb Becker during the commissioner’s regular meeting held on Tuesday, October 18.

She wondered if there was a more permanent solution.

Part of the problem for the office has been that the assessors have to be in the office to answer questions from citizens, but being in the office prevents them from being out in the field assessing.

Some of the complaints that were stated at the meeting include phone calls not getting answered in a timely manner or no one being at the office when citizens stop in. . .
