Tornado relief efforts to begin

by Karin L. Nauber

Pastor Del Moen will be doing some training of volunteers on Tuesday and Wednesday this week so that those volunteers can then go out and collect information from people whose homes, businesses, and/or property were damaged in the May tornadoes experienced in the Clarissa and Eagle Bend areas.

Volunteers will have fact sheets that ask seven questions.

The purpose of the survey is to give state and federal offices a ballpark figure of the damages and associated dollar figures with those damages.

“We will turn our results in to Todd County Emergency Management and they will get those numbers to the cities and townships along with the state and federal authorities,” explained Moen.

He said that they are also hoping to get Lutheran Social Services (LSS) involved by turning in the information to them. LSS will then base their further work on those results. . .
