Twin Eagle Dairy named Producers of the Year
The Minnesota Milk Producers Association, the state’s dairy advocacy group, announced its 2024 Producers of the Year: Pat and Jody Lunemann of Twin Eagle Dairy in Clarissa. This honor recognizes the Lunemanns for their exceptional leadership in agriculture and their community, as well as their outstanding innovation and commitment to Minnesota dairy.
The association will formally present the Lunemanns with the award during its upcoming annual meeting on February 4, 2025, in St. Paul. Minnesota Milk members and supporters are welcome to attend.
The Lunemann family has been farming in the same area for three generations since 1925. Originally a 50-cow dairy, the operation expanded over the years to 900 cows. It has implemented various conservation practices along the way, such as utilizing cover crops.
“When I first started farming, one of my initial purchases was a moldboard plow, which is funny to think about now because I don’t own one today,” Pat said. “Our farm has evolved to be much more sustainably oriented through the methods we use, and we emphasize the importance of protecting our natural environment.”...
