Two arrested after fleeing police

On August 10, agents with the West Central Drug and Violent Crime Task Force along with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. Highway 10 near Todd County Road 7.

The vehicle fled from a trooper and the pursuit was discontinued for public safety reasons. The suspect vehicle was later located nearby.

A short time later agents were able to track the suspects to a small wooded area near Lincoln in Morrison County. A perimeter was established around the small wooded area.

One of the suspects was apprehended after a brief foot chase. The Todd County Sheriff’s Office K9 responded to the scene to assist in locating the remaining suspect. Several commands were given to the suspect along with K9 warnings.

K9 Ranger later located the subject, hiding under a downed tree. The suspect received minor injuries related to a K9 bite. He was treated at a local hospital and cleared to go to jail.

The suspects were identified as Eric Jenson of Backus and Alexander Russel of Deerwood. Both had outstanding felony warrants for their arrest. Both are currently being held at the Morrison County Jail pending charges.

Assisting at the scene were the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Enforcement Division, Motley Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
