Two injured in buggy accident
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday morning just before 11 a.m. Marcy Lynn Beaty, 42, of Deer Creek was driving a Ford Explorer on County Highway 50 heading east when she came upon a buggy at the bottom of a hill. Beaty reportedly braked, but the road was slippery from fresh snow and the vehicle ended up striking the buggy.
The collision caused the horse and buggy to separate. The horse continued on and the buggy tipped over.
The driver and passenger in the buggy were Raymond, 56, and Barbara, 55, Schrock. They were taken to the Tri-County Hospital in Wadena for evaluation.
The driver and a passenger in the SUV were not hurt.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Deer Creek Fire and Rescue and Tri-County Ambulance.
