Verndale City Council: Athmann is the new police chief

The Verndale City Council held its regular meeting on March 13.
New Police Chief
The Police Committee interviewed Randy Athmann for the part-time chief of police position and recommended hiring him. There was concern about his interaction with people in the past. City Clerk Melissa Current stated that he would have a six-month probation period like all new employees. The council approved hiring him.
