Verndale City Council: Discussed renewable fuel

The Verndale City Council held its regular meeting on April 11. Member Jim Runyan was absent.

Walter Riberio with Dragonfly-e explained their initiative to create fuel.
They are applying for federal grant money up to $100,000. They are partnering with the city of Verndale, the city of Wadena, and the University of Minnesota.
Minnesotans paid over $450 million in diesel costs. What they are trying to do is provide sustainability to farm operations by processing organic material to make fuel.
They are looking for a site to implement an anaerobic digester unit to create biogas while keeping the soil healthy by making fertilizer. They would talk to providers for organic material, charge a processing fee and return fertilizer with the harmful gases extracted to create natural gas hydrogen and carbon dioxide which are commodities. . .
