Verndale City Council: Logo and lettering approved for the new water tower
by Trinity Gruenberg
The Verndale City Council held its regular meeting on May 10.
Water Tower Project
Clif Allen, Moore Engineering, said the underground work is done and they are getting the foundation in.
Approved pay estimate three for Maguire Iron for $128,751.
Discussion was held on the master services agreement task orders for the tower, wells and roads; the grant applications for the local road improvement
program and survey monuments on lots they didn’t have task orders for. Allen suggested having the city attorney look at the orders or just sign the master service agreement with Moore Engineering. Approved the master service agreement and task order number one for general engineering services.
Allen said the water towers are very well-grounded from lightning strikes, in case there was any concern.
Maintenance Supervisor Matt Uselman showed examples of what the water tower could look like. Of the five examples, the council chose the black and dark green Verndale School colors.
Maguire Iron submitted designs for the water tower and lettering. The tower would have a Pirate logo on it as well as “Verndale” in four-foot lettering which could be seen from Highway 10. . .
