Verndale City Council: Water leak discovered—losing 60,000 gallons per day

The Verndale City Council held their regular meeting on January 11. Council Member Ardith Carr was absent. New council members Tony Stanley and Daryl Jacobson were sworn in.

Water Project

Approved payment 18—final—$5272 for Eagle Construction Company for a total of just over $2.5 million for the water treatment plant construction.

Approved amendment three, for professional services, for the additional costs due to the State Historic Preservation Office creating a “scrapbook” of the current water tower’s history as per state statute for $15,000.

Quotes for the water meters were received. With Maintenance Supervisor Matt Uselman’s blessing, it was decided to award the contract to the Dakota Supply Group for Kamtrup FlowIQ 2250 meters at a cost of $92,636. Uselman explained they won’t have to physically go to the meter locations to take a reading. . .
