Verndale Pirates earn personal bests at Hawley meet

The Verndale Pirates cross country team competed at the Dale Skallerud invitational on Thursday October 3rd. It was a great day for a race with temperatures around 65 and a slight wind.

The race started with the 8th grader Charlie Johnson running the junior high 3.2 k or 2 mile boys race. He competed against 90 other runners, finishing in the top 20 with a time of 13 minutes and 20 seconds.

Heta Tervola Hultberg ran the junior high girls race, competing against 66 other runners finishing with the best time of the season with 19 minutes and 50 seconds. Not running with the junior high girls today was Aaliyah Bailey....
