The Verndale School Board held its regular meeting on June 6.

Bonds

Jen Chapman and Jodie Zesbaugh with Ehlers reviewed the Presale Report for the $550,000 general obligation facilities maintenance bonds.

They received eight bids and Citizens State Bank located in Waverly won with an interest rate of 2.97 percent, lower than projected, which will save $18,920 in payments.

Jodie shared her appreciation for Superintendent Paul Brownlow and his interest in school finances and looking out for the taxpayers.

Approved the resolution awarding the sale of the general obligation bonds to Citizens State Bank.

Approved to rescind the motion from last month to approve the transfer of funds to the construction fund. State statutes prohibit this. The funds will remain in their current accounts and will still be used toward the HVAC project. The $240,000 remains in the General Committed Fund and the $400,000 in the general LTFM. . .
