Verndale School Board: Cap open enrollment or build on to the school?

The Verndale School Board held their regular meeting on Thursday, January 5.

New school board member Tyler Fisher was sworn in. The meeting began with the organizational meeting: Board Chair Scott Veronen, Vice Chair Shyla Hess, Clerk Chris Youngbauer and Treasurer Jeremy Schwartz.

The regular board meetings remain the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m. with adjustments as necessary.

Approved designated increase in the discretionary spending from $15,000 to $25,000. Schwartz explained that is the bare minimum recognized by statute. Approved.

Board pay remained the same at $80 per regular board meeting, $10 additional for board chair, $60 per extra meeting and committee meetings. . .
