Verndale School Board: School withdraws representation status from Local 70

The Verndale School Board held its regular meeting on June 5.
Administrative Reports
Dean of Students and Activities Director Greg Johnson was not in attendance but left his report.
Softball finished the season with a 10-11 record and got all 20 regularly scheduled games in. Baseball played against Ogilvie for the section 5A tournament. Girls track had 10 girls in the section tournament. The 4x800m relay team placed second and advanced to state. Boys track had 12 boys in the section meet, with four advancing to state. Golf began the first round of section play. The marching band will also perform at the June Jubilee parade.
Principal Katie Bolland shared over 75 students attended the B’s of Better Breakfast on May 18. Nine seniors were recognized for a 3.67 or higher GPA.
Several professional development conferences will be held this summer with 16 teachers attending.
Report cards will be sent out soon and for elementary students, it will include their teacher for next year. They are working to combine the elementary and high school handbooks and review the dress code. . .
