Wadena County Commissioners: Courthouse now open to the public

The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on June 14, along with the Board of Appeals and Equalization.
The courthouse is now open, the screening station has been removed and the main doors are unlocked. They are using fans at the Deer Creek School courthouse site as the building doesn’t have an air handling unit.
Other Business
• Approved annual allocation payments for Wadena County Humane Society $5800, Old Wadena Society $2500, Initiative Foundation $2560, Central Minnesota Council on Aging $1520, Menahga Historical Museum $3000 and the Wadena County Ag Society $15,000; for a total of $30,380.
Approved the first half allocation payments to Wadena Historical Society for $12,000 and the West Central Economic Development for $15,000 for a total of $27,000.
• Approved Human Services statistical report with a cash balance at the end of May of $1,984,741; utilizing 42 percent of the budget.
• Approved a resolution for the Friendly Rider operating grant for 2022 of $999,301. Transit is funded 100 percent at the pre-state budget. Funds will go into the reserve account. Years past has been typically a 15 percent local match. . .
