The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on June 20.
Conditional Use Permit for Campground
James Murphy returned to the commissioners meeting for approval of the conditional use permit for a campground of less than 50 units, including tube rentals and hiking. It will be called Crow Wing Oasis.
He produced a layout of the campsites, 27 units max, with each campsite 2700 square feet. And three RV campsites “on holiday weekends if needed” and each is 2000 square feet. He also shared the tent campsite map of 16 sites 30’x15’, and tent campsites on holiday weekends if needed for 14 sites, and a 20-vehicle parking area for tube rentals.
Letters of opposition pertaining to this campground said it would affect hunting on the adjacent properties, cause increased traffic and safety concerns, and the potential pollution from littering. Most letters came from out of the area and from different states from those who come to this property to hunt and fish. . .
