Wadena County Commissioners: Discuss plan to reduce serious injury crashes

The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on February 14.
County Road Safety Plan
County Engineer Darin Fellbaum explained in 2010 MnDOT partnered with the counties to look at road safety based on curves, intersections and more taking a look at prone areas to try and reduce accidents. With this plan, they were able to apply for special federal Highway Safety Improvement Program funding that covers 90-100 percent of the cost.
In 2010-2014 plans were developed for all 87 counties in partnership with MnDOT and the Federal Highway Administration.
MnDOT, working with Alliant Engineering, is looking to update the plan. . .
