The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on November 15.
Budget Discussion
The preliminary tax levy is at 10.37 percent.
Their interest in investments took a jump. Heather Olson, auditor/treasurer, invested $3 million to come out to over $4 million in a nine-month period.
Right now, they are sitting at a 7.07 increase, which is down from the end of September.
The Humane Society is asking for nearly a 30 percent increase from the county, and Wadena County Historical Society is asking for an increase of $1000.
The appropriations and allocations are a board discussion if they wish to cut them or increase them.
Commissioner Murlyn Kreklau said their preliminary levy is among the highest in the state and highest in the region. . .
