Wadena Memorial Day Program
The public is invited to the Wadena Memorial Day program at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 29, at the Wadena Cemetery.
The program will be hosted by Elmer Goche VFW Post 3922 and Auxiliary.
Pastor Amos Self from the Verndale Family Life Church will give the Invocation and Benediction.
Music provided by the Wadena area community band, Steve Anderson, conductor.
The Memorial Day Address will feature William M. Rose, DVM from the Perham/ Ottertail area.
After high school, Rose enlisted in the Marines and became a Viet Nam War veteran in 1968. He was wounded and spent over five months in a Naval hospital. After an honorable discharge, he attended the U of M College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Rose married in 1970. He is the father of four sons, two served in the Marine Corps and one in the Navy.
NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held at the Memorial Auditorium.
NOTE: There will be a program to honor the service men and women who died at sea. This will be down near the water at the Veteran’s Park on Harry and Rich Dr. just off Highway 10 East, 30 minutes after the cemetery program.
