Wagner wins Section title

The final week of the regular season saw a tough test as the boys headed to Bemidji to take on the 12th ranked Lumberjacks from Class AAA and the 2nd ranked Staples-Motley Cardinals in Class A.
Two tough teams and a thin line-up for the Raiders made for a long night.
Bemidji took the opening match before BHVPP got back-to-back wins from Mason and Merrick Hoffman for their only lead of the night at 8-4.
The Lumberjacks would win the rest of the matches except for a 32-16 technical fall from Braden Shamp as the host team prevailed 54-13.
The second round continued as the Cardinals’ lower weights are all near the top in the polls.
Preston Captain got the Raiders on the board at 145 with a forfeit and Gage Barthel picked up a major decision as the Raiders went down 61-10 in the dual.
A 17-12 regular season campaign is in the books as the Raiders received the top seed in Section 6A and will take the mat this Friday in Pelican Rapids starting at 3:30 p.m. in pursuit of their seventh consecutive section final appearance and fifth state tournament bid since 2019.

The middle schoolers took to the mat on Friday evening for the annual Park Rapids Duals.
The opening round matched BHVPP against Hibbing and the little Raiders got rolling early.
Royal Oyster sparked the team with a fall followed by a technical fall for Jacob Toyli.
Walter Veronen accepted a forfeit and Luke Schilling secured a pin for the 23-0 lead.
The Bluejackets picked up a pin at 100 before the Raiders went on a six-match win streak.
Decisions from Cru Booker and Royal Stropko, a major decision from Zaiden Miller, pins from Colton Schlosser and Isaiah Duberowski, and a forfeit to Easton Havnes extended the lead to 51-6.
Hibbing would get a forfeit and technical fall to cement the dual at 51-17....
