Weber charged with assault, fleeing the scene and attempted arson
According to court documents, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report on December 4 involving Sean Raymond Weber, 49, of Wadena.
Weber was accused of assaulting a victim and preventing them from leaving a location in Otter Tail County.
When deputies arrived, Weber was in a vehicle blocking the victim’s exit.
Despite commands to stop and exit the vehicle, he fled from the scene, initiating a pursuit. The chase reached speeds of approximately 85 miles per hour on County Highway 75. Law enforcement successfully deployed stop sticks. The pursuit ended after 6.5 miles when Weber’s vehicle went into a ditch.
During the investigation at the scene, deputies discovered burn marks on a bed at the residence. The victim reported that Weber had threatened to burn the house down, lit a torch, and attempted to set the bed on fire. The victim was able to extinguish the flames.
Weber faces charges of two felony counts of domestic assault, one felony count of fleeing in a motor vehicle, and one misdemeanor count of 5th-degree arson.
