    Samuel Moore has been a part of the Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale Raiders Track and Field Team since seventh grade. In those past five years, he has attended the State Tournament four years in a row for throwing events in both shot put and discus. 

​

    In the past, Sam has set both the school and section records for shot put and discus. The section record for shot put was previously held by Mark Paulsen, who threw 54 feet and 2 inches, back in 1977. Sam threw 59 feet and 11 ¾ inches, setting the new section record.
