Departments need help, but none seems available...

While several departments in the county are seeking employees, two departments who asked for help at the January 16 commissioner meeting were left with one tabled request and another that felt rather helpless from the get-go.
The first employee action approved for the auditor/treasurer’s office, led to the second request which ended up getting tabled.
The first action was to approve promoting Jolene Sabrowsky to chief deputy auditor/treasurer at Grade 10, Step 4, $26.57 per hour effective January 21.
Background:
According to the action approved by the board, the chief deputy auditor/treasurer position was established on January 18, 2000 with its own job description and Hay Study wage valuation to which Karen Busch was promoted.
On January 29, 2002, Peggy Anderson was promoted to this position after Busch was appointed auditor/treasurer.
On July 31, 2007, Denise Gaida was promoted to this position after Anderson retired.
Effective January 1, 2014, Gaida was appointed as interim auditor/treasurer due to the retirement of Busch.
Gaida has since been elected Todd County Auditor/Treasurer which solidified the vacancy existing in the chief deputy auditor/treasurer position.
