Verndale School Board: School pays health insurance fine, HRS Level 2 certification

The Verndale School Board held their regular meeting on March 4.

Insurance penalty

Superintendent Paul Brownlow discussed some of the larger bills this past month including a tax penalty for $36,540 from 2016 for not providing insurance, which came in less than what they budgeted for. 

“For calendar year 2018 that penalty would jump up to $79,000 because we have more employees and that dollar amount goes from $2000 for an employee to $2300, so we are going to continue to see that climb,” said Brownlow. . . .
