The Verndale School Board held their regular meeting on August 12. Board Member Marcus Edin was absent.
Superintendent Paul Brownlow shared there is a new Pirate logo window graphic for security reasons and they will do another graphic in the vestibule. They are also looking at installing a door inside the office.
Administrative Reports
Dean of Students/Activities Director Greg Johnson shared fall sports practice has begun. Volleyball has a scrimmage on August 21 and first game on August 26. Football has a scrimmage on August 24 and their first game is on August 30.
There is a new app for coaches to share information with parents and send messages to a specific roster such as varsity football.
Principal Arick Follingstad said the back to school open house is August 28. The first day of school is September 3 for K-7 and 12th grades. September 4 is for all students.
There were 28 staff members who attended the National High Reliability Schools Summit in Denver, Colorado. . . .
