    A memorable event at a family barbecue when kids decided to check the dog for ticks and put those ticks in a near empty bottle of beer and was accidentally drank by a family member, spawned the name for  the new bar in Hewitt, the Woodtick Lounge.

​

    “We wanted something original and we remembered  that moment,” chuckled Jeff Wiirre.

​

    Jeff and Pam Wiirre of New York Mills were looking for a new venture in life and had talked for years about buying a restaurant or a bar. Jeff is a plumber by trade and Pam was an office manager in HR and accounting. They have five children between the two of them.
